What are the best golf courses to play in the Atlanta area?

November 10th, 2009

I’m a huge golfer and am visiting Atlanta to attend the final four in late march and early April of this year. I want to golf a couple of the best courses in the area. Price is no concern. Obviously it would be great to golf Augusta National but that is most likely impossible as it is a very private club. I would appreciate any suggestions, names, web sites, or links to the best courses in the area. Thank you for your time.

Go to Golfdigest.com and look up state-by-state rankings of courses. They do a great job of ranking courses and can give you much more information than we can do here. Try the following link, but if it doesn’t work, just search on Golf Digest.

How do you get a hole-in-one in golf?

November 7th, 2009

Or any other techniques?
It’s just that i am going to play "crazy" golf very very soon today and I would like to know any tips!
By the way… What is a par???
Sorry if it sounds dumb by the way =S

Well, good luck trying to get one. The chances of getting a hole in one is 1 in 180,000. And you can’t really practice getting a hole in one. So, ya just work on getting your ball 10 feet or less from the hole.

Happy golfing

what are some basic golf tips?

November 7th, 2009

im going to a practice range for the first time tommrow and was wondering like what each club and stuff is used for cuz i have a whole set of clubs balls shoe etc or what are some tips about my swing?

First of all, don’t rush your swing. Start slowly and try to send balls where you want. Your swing tempo will decide what kind of golfer you will become.
Second of all, instead of trying to crush the balls, try to hit them softly. You will get the feeling of hitting balls crisply, then you can start a little harder with bigger swing.

What is the best golf bag to carry golf clubs on an international flight?

November 7th, 2009

Have recently bought a golf bag with dividers that dont cover the entire lenght of the clubs. Im afraid that they will be damaged on the flight by handling.Which is the best bag to buy to make sure that the clubs are safe?

I had the same problem so a friend told me about these bags made just for this problem (OGIO is the only way to go)
*BAGS*
*Monster
http://www.ogio.com/product.php?product=176

*Straight Jacket
http://www.ogio.com/product.php?product=177

*Monster Description
The OGIO Monster travel bag, an oversized home-away-from-home for valuable golf gear, is designed to withstand extraordinary punishment, thanks in part to its SLEDTM (Structural Load Equalizing Deck) technology. With oversized wheels to facilitate easy maneuvering, and a padded ballistic nylon and tarpaulin exterior, the OGIO Monster is equipped to manage tour bags, yet its internal cinch straps can secure even the lightest of stand bags.

*Straight Jacket Description
The Straight Jacket lives up to its name by providing exceptional stability and security to your gear. Constructed with heavy grade materials, this durable, soft-sided bag includes inline skate wheels and powerful internal cinch straps to secure and transport sizes ranging from traditional stand bags to oversize tournament bags.

How do you stop from hitting the ball so crocked when playing golf?

November 4th, 2009

I just starting playing the sport and can not hit the ball straight, I make good connection, keep my head down but the ball always slices or hooks. any tips or tricks for a newbie….

This is very common, and very frustrating.

You should give consideration to taking some lessons. Many courses, as well as city recreation programs offer inexpensive group lessons.

Without actually seeing your swing, it is almost impossible to know what is happening to you. Someone who knows what they are doing, and looks at you swing can probably do wonders.

G’luck!
